This coming summer we have two great conferences focused on all aspects of
Venturing. During (July 9-15) we will be offering Growing A Venturing Program.

Inviting all key Venturing Officer Association (VOA) youth leaders, adult advisors, and staff advisors to a new training experience! Participants will be able to join with other leaders from across the nation to network, build friendships, discover more of the ALPS program model, and develop skills to help VOAs support an explosive Venturing program that will recruit and retain youth! This isn’t your typical classroom course. Ditch the projector and immerse yourself in the beauty of PTC while enjoying some exciting adventures at Philmont.

Really Awesome Venturing Experience

is the scouting event of the year for Area 1!

Venturers and Venturing aged youth will have the opportunity to explore everything at Camp Pigott in Chief Seattle Council has to offer. Youth can test out the edges of their comfort zone at the climbing wall with trained belayers or with a group of friends on the COPE course. If a youth or adult is interested in working on personal development or checking off requirements for the Pathfinder award, they can attend the Mentoring training led by members of the Area 1 VOA.

If a youth is interested in working on their marksmanship they can check out Pigott’s fabulous shooting range. Unlimited shooting add-on is $15 dollars. Venturers can register as a group with adults or as individuals. We’ll celebrate a successful weekend with the snazziest Venturing dance Area 1 has ever seen. Don’t forget your dancing kicks!

No great event is complete without delicious food, your weekend meals are included with the $45 registration fee.

Mentoring for Venturing Crews

This training is designed to help Venturers understand how to mentor other members of the crew and appreciate the role mentoring plays in personal growth and leadership for both the mentee and mentor.


This is a Summit Award Requirement

May 13, 2017

10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

LDS Building 190 S Locust Grove Rd, Meridian, ID 83642

Same place as Gem State District Leader Position Specific Training.

Wear your field uniform (BSA Venturing uniform shirt and gray pants) and a smile.

Bring your handbook, pen and paper, water bottle, and a best spring-cleaning story.
